A medical technique called “laser corneal sculpting” uses a laser to modify the surface of the eye. This is done to treat astigmatism (uneven surface curvature of the eye), hypermetropia (longsightedness), and myopia (shortsightedness).
The ideal time to think about laser eye surgery is when you’re at least 20 years old.
You will likely have follow-up appointments with your eye doctor on a regular basis for at least six months following laser surgery.
